I sat down and dipped my toe in There was no way that I couldn’t know Ice queen with all the sheen, yeah As she slithered and put on a show There’s no way to win in the place of sin You get whipped and ripped to and fro Ice queen with all the sheen, yeah Then I reached for a hundred more Too cold to hold now, baby But I want the world to know You’re solid gold now, baby I wanna let it show As she sold me on my way down Tried to tell me but I didn’t know Getting low with her chilled crown Had me wrapped up with a bow And then I put down a 10 It’s not a game I can win And then I put down a 10….

Wait 03:06
Bright lights tight people I’m lookin for a church without a steeple Everyone’s got a plan Who the fuck needs a man There is another way to die There is no other way to fight There is another way to die I tell myself when I’m alone, to Wait but I don’t wanna wait too long Dark night Bad hand Doing this for a shitty grand Everyone’s got a plan Everyone’s got a plan Bit by bit it comes around again I say my piece then dive right in

about

Bass Drum of Death have announced they’re releasing a 7" single with two new songs, “Too Cold to Hold” and “Wait.”

The first is a grinding garage stomper with a stellar hook and a slinking groove. The B-side skews heavier and nastier with its bludgeoning riff, crashing cymbals, and a screaming breakdown. Taken together, they deliver the kind of fist-pumping, shout-along catharsis BDOD fans have come to expect and love.

The record marks the first new music from the group since 2018’s Just Business. And for the first time, it features BDOD founder and frontman John Barrett collaborating with with his younger brother, Jim. The two started writing songs in Brooklyn early this year and finished recording in Oxford, Mississippi during the Covid lockdown. A full-length album is in the works.
